Answers to Your Breast Reduction Surgery Questions

Have you been considering breast reduction surgery? If so, you probably have a million questions you want answered. Before you go “under the knife,” do some personal research. Make sure surgery is the right answer for your issues. There are several reasons why a woman would choose to have breast reduction surgery and they include both cosmetic and medical reasons. Large breasts often cause a great deal of back pain as the spine struggles to hold the massive front weight on a woman’s body. This is the most common reason. Breast reduction surgery is also done to reverse implants and when a woman simply feels she is carrying too much up front.

breast reductionA common concern is that breast reduction surgery will cause cancer. The simple answer is that this type of surgery does not affect your risk of contracting cancer of any type. It doesn’t interfere with any treatments that might later be needed for any type of disease and will actually improve a woman’s experience when having a mammogram procedure done.

The tissue that is removed in this surgery is later examined under a microscope to see if there is any indication of cancer or other problems. Studies show that there is a slight decrease in risk of other types of cancer in women who have had breast reduction surgery.

You will want to discuss the financial side of your decision with your doctor. Check with your insurance to see if you can get any kind of help that way. If it is medically necessary because of strain on the spine, it is more likely to be covered.

You don’t have to worry about the size of your breasts growing back after surgery. As long as they were fully developed when the surgery was performed, they will not get larger again. This is barring any pregnancy or weight gain. In addition to this, you may need some help breast-feeding after reduction surgery. Keep the formula nearby to supplement your baby’s appetite.

No matter your decision or your current or future breast size, you should feel confident and at home in your own body. Breast reduction surgery can help with that.

3 Reasons Why Liposuction Might be Right for You

Liposuction isn’t for everyone. Here are three healthy motivations to decide if plastic surgery is right for you.

1. You are Content with Your Weight

liposuctionLiposuction is not a cure for obesity. However, if you are content with your weight and just want to reshape your body, liposuction might be right for you.

Remember, liposuction doesn’t change your overall health and can’t make up for poor nutrition or lifestyle choices. Liposuction also isn’t a great idea when recovering from pregnancy or menopause because weight fluctuations are common.
If you’re not just recovering from pregnancy or menopause where great weight fluctuations are common, then liposuction might be a good choice for you!

2. You Have a Healthy Lifestyle and Want to Balance Your Body Proportions

Many people have dramatic weight loss stories, but find that there’s just one last pocket of stubborn body fat that won’t leave. If you have a healthy lifestyle and maintain a constant weight, liposuction can be a good way to get rid of that last stronghold of fatty tissue.

Liposuction is most effective at:

  • Sculpting your body shape
  • Carving contours
  • Creating more pleasant proportions

Liposuction is a tiring surgery, and can hurt for up to a week. Swelling usually diminishes within the first 3 weeks, but you may not fully recovered until up to six months later.

If you already have a lifestyle that keeps you at a consistent weight or body size that you are happy with, but still can’t lose those last few pounds, then liposuction can be a good option for you.

3. Breast Reduction for Men

Gynecomastia is fairly common among men. Enlarged breasts are a natural part of male physiology. Liposuction is one of the simplest and cheapest ways for men to reduce their breasts. As long as they are at a consistent weight and are healthy, a liposuction procedure can permanently reduce their breasts to more acceptable proportions.

If you’re looking to get a liposuction for enlarged male breasts, you should look for a qualified, experienced surgeon. Research their liposuction methods and schedule a consultation to ensure that they are right for you

There are other surgeries that can reduce male breasts, but liposuction is usually the most cost effective. There are more dramatic surgeries, such as breast reduction or liposculpting, that can also work well.

Liposuction is a great option for many people. There are also other cosmetic surgeries that can help you get the body you want. If you still have questions or concerns, call 908-879-2222 to schedule a consultation today and find out what your options are for a healthy liposuction!

If you stretch the skin around your wound, you open up the possibility to expanding the wound itself. Try to keep your healing skin as relaxed as possible. This includes not moving too much because if you jolt the skin unintentionally, you can open the wound further.

What to Expect with Rhinoplasty

RhinoplastyNoses are something that many people are not satisfied with. The nose may be too big for their face; it may turn up too much or simply not fit in with the person’s definition of beauty. A Rhinoplasty surgery is meant to correct the nose issue, and give a person the nose that they have always wanted. However, there is more to this surgery that what most people think, and it is considered a major surgery that will require recovery time.

Depending upon the amount of work that needs to be done to the nose will determine where the incision is made, which can be between the nose holes or at the side of the nose. Once the incision is made, bone and cartilage is manipulated in order to give the shape that the person wants. This involves cutting and chiseling off bone to give a better shape. In cases in which the nose needs to be made bigger, the doctor will use cartilage from other parts of the body to shape your new nose.

After the surgery, you are usually allowed to go home as long as there are no complications. When you leave, internal dressings are placed in the nose to stop bleeding and to form blood clots, and a splint is added to your nose for added protection. There are things that you should not be doing such as strenuous activity which can lead to more bleeding and issues, avoid smiling or laughing for a while to not disrupt the nose, do not blow your nose and do not pull clothes over your head as this could dislodge the splint or cause issues.

It is common for people to have black or blue splotches under the eyes after surgery and to have swelling in the nose. The black eyes will leave in a couple of days, while the swelling could stay in place for a little longer as the nose heals.

Why Do We Need Plastic Surgery?

Plastic SurgeryEven if it is not true 100% of the time, a great body is often taken to be the sign of a great personality. Because of this, we are sometimes hyper-aware of your bodies, and we all have many different issues about our individual bodies. Maybe you are embarrassed because of a defective body part. Maybe you are a little overweight and that makes you self-conscious. No matter what your personal body issues are, you don’t have to worry anymore. We have you covered through plastic surgery.

What is Plastic Surgery?

Plastic surgery is a unique type of surgery which alters your appearance. Although it can be reconstructive and more medical in purpose, most of the time it is purely cosmetic. However, these cosmetic surgeries can help provide you with the confidence you’ve always lacked. Reconstructive procedures can fix bodily defects such as birth defects and cleft lips; it can correct traumatic injuries such as dog bites and burned skin. It can even rebuild women’s breasts after breast cancer surgery! Whether you are getting plastic surgery for reconstructive or cosmetic reasons, it gives you a perfect body shape and ideal figure.

Possible Plastic Surgery Treatments:

  • If your ears are too much large and you are not happy with them, then you can give them a better shape by ear pinning. This is known as pinnaplasty.
  • If you have bags under your eyes or droopy eye lids, this corrective treatment is known as blepharoplasty.
  • If you feel your skin around your neck and jaws is too loose, you can reshape your neck with the help of a neck lift.
  • Reshaping the nose is known as rhinoplasty.
  • Augmentation of the chin is known as genioplasty.
  • Reducing the fat and excess of skin between the elbow and underarms is known as brachioplasty.
  • Reshaping and reducing the fat in your abdomen is known as abdiminoplasty.
  • Reconstruction of the penis is known as phalloplasty.

There are, of course, many more options, but these are some of the most common.
