Breast Reduction
Breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a procedure specifically designed to reduce the weight and size of a woman’s breasts. It also works to improve the look and appearance of the areola. Women with large breasts often suffer from chronic shoulder, neck and back pain. They also suffer from posture problems, headaches, musculoskeletal chest pain, rashes and skin irritations. Large breasts can also limit physical activity and impede a healthy lifestyle. It is possible to have numbness of the hands and arms secondary to severe breast hypertrophy.
Breast reduction surgery has successfully helped women with large breasts feel more confident and comfortable. Reduction mammoplasty patients are some of the happiest and most satisfied patients of Dr. Larry Weinstein, because after surgery they feel so much more comfortable and functional. Because they feel so much more functional, many patients go on to do well in exercise programs, often lose weight and become more fit.

How is breast reduction surgery performed?
There are many ways to perform a breast reduction procedure, and many different incisions. New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Larry Weinstein will review your medical history and perform a thorough examination in order to recommend the best procedure option for you. The procedure can either be performed in a hospital, with an overnight stay, or as an out-patient procedure in an ambulatory setting. You will be able to see a difference immediately, and the results will improve more and more over time as the swelling goes down and you continue to heal. The scars will fade over time.
Am I a candidate for breast reduction surgery?
Breast reduction candidates are in good health, are not currently smoking, and those who have realistic expectations about the surgery and their potential results. If you fit these categories, feel free to contact us and we’ll set up your personal breast reduction consultation.
Is Dr. Weinstein’s technique special?
Yes, he uses the smallest incision possible to achieve the results needed. He uses the latest techniques to achieve a near pain free recovery. 99% of patients report complete resolution of their preoperative pain symptoms.
