Breast Augmentation Chester NJWhat sounds better than heading to a foreign, tropical country and coming back with some new breast implants, a nose job, or a tummy tuck? So, before you decide to book a trip somewhere abroad to get plastic surgery, read this blog post.

Operating and Sanitary Standards

Unfortunately, operating room and sanitary standards vary worldwide. While here in the United States we have to meet certain sanitary requirements in order to avoid infection, other countries don’t necessarily have them in place. In fact, they may be a lot lower which can put you at risk of developing an infection during or after surgery.

Here in the United States, you know that a plastic surgeon not only as to go through four years of medical school but they also have to go through a six-year residency as well. Whereas, other some other countries only require a few years of training in cosmetic surgery.

Traveling Afterward

Imagine having to sit upright in a long flight after a surgery— doesn’t sound fun, right?

After you undergo any type of surgery the last thing that you want to do is get in a plane. Even if you are resting in a country for a couple of days or a week after surgery you may not be healed enough to get in a plane and fly.

The united states isn’t the only country with certified and trained surgeons. There are plenty of countries that offer safe and effective surgeries in well-trained facilities and hospitals, but there are other countries that don’t. Before you consider traveling abroad, come into our office and have a consultation with Dr. Weinstein. To learn more, contact our Chester office and call us at 908-879-2222

3 Ways to Speed Up Your Arm Lipo Recovery

Liposuction Chester Township, NJ Having loose fat on you upper arms can make you feel self-conscious to have your picture taken and to wear anything that shows them off. Rather than spending this summer hiding your arms because you’re self-conscious, why not take matters into your own hands (or Dr. Weinstein’s hands) and get arm liposuction? During this procedure, Dr. Weinstein will surgically extract the fat in your arms to help give you that slender look that you’ve always wanted. To help you get recovered faster, let’s go over three easy tips to follow.

Don’t Exercise

If you were to keep your hand sedentary during your entire workout, can you imagine how impossible it would be? Even if you were doing a leg workout. This is why we tell all of our patients to avoid any sort of exercise or strenuous activities for at least a couple of weeks after surgery, because it’s impossible to workout without moving your arms. By giving your arms a break, they will have enough time to heal on their own without getting irritated by exercise.

Keep Arms Bandaged

No, bandages and compression sleeves may not be the sexist thing you have ever worn, but they are one of the best things that you can wear while you’re recovering. Why? Because they will help reduce swelling and keep your incision intact while they are healing so that you don’t get an infection.

Clean Your Drain

Depending on how your surgery went, we may place a drain in your arms to help get rid of excess fluid after surgery. Although a drain may be a little bit irritating, it’s important that you keep it in at all times. Additionally, we also tell our patients to make sure that they clean their drain as frequently as possible so that it doesn’t get dirty or grow bacteria.

If you are ready to get sexier, leaner arms, contact Dr. Weinstein at our Chester office today and all us at 908-879-2222.

How to Speed Up Neck Lift Recovery

Neck Lift | Morristown NJIn this day and age, you don’t have to go under the knife to temporarily get rid of fine lines and wrinkles across your face and forehead. With dermal fillers and Botox you can get what is called a liquid facelift which helps you temporarily correct loose and sagging skin on your face without surgery. But, one thing a lot of patients run into is a smooth, youthful complexion and then loose sagging skin on their neck. Luckily, with a surgical neck lift, we can help you tighten the skin on your neck which will give you a more elegant looking neckline. To make sure that you recover as quickly as possible, we have created a list of a few things that you can do.

Don’t Ice

Typically when patients have postoperative inflammation, we encourage them to ice the area. With a neck lift, however, that’s the last thing that you should do. Why? Because it can restrict blood flow and cut off your oxygen supply. Instead, you can take an over-the-counter- nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen.

Keep Your Head Elevated

The good news and bad news about neck lift surgery recovery is that it takes about two weeks for you to fully recover. Although sitting in bed for a long time may make you feel restless, it can also be the perfect excuse to not do anything but watch movies and read all day long. While you are in bed, make sure that you prop your head up so that you are elevated. Keeping your head and neck elevated will help you reduce swelling and it will also help you drain any fluids from your neck. In some instances, we will place a tube from your incisions site to help drain fluid and speed up recovery.

When we send you home from a neck lift surgery, we will make sure that you and whoever is taking care of you has a hard copy of recovery tips and tricks. If you have any questions or concerns at any point during recovery, we are here to help. 3 Benefits of a Liquid Facelift

Facial Fillers Chester, NJYou may think that in order for you to get a facelift that you have to go under the knife, but Dr. Weinstein has a secret for you: you don’t. With a liquid facelift, Dr. Weinstein can give you a similar look without the surgery. By using a combination of fillers and Botox, Dr. Weinstein will make strategic injections across your face to help you get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, and add more volume to any lax skin. Let’s take a closer look at some of the benefits of this procedure

No Recovery Time

One of the things that deters a lot of patients from a traditional surgical facelift is the fact that they have to spend time recovering. If you live a busy life either raising a family or working, the last thing that you have time to do is lay in bed for a few weeks recovering. With a liquid facelift, there is no real recovery required. The only thing we will ask you to do is not to exercise for 24 hours afterwards so that everything settles just fine.

Real Results

Our patients keep coming back to Botox and fillers for a variety of reasons, but the biggest one is that they give people real results every time. Even though you won’t see the results from Botox for about 3-5 days after your injections, you will see results from your fillers almost immediately.

You Have More Control

The fun thing about a liquid facelift is that Dr. Weinstein can start out small, see how you like it, and then add more fillers as he goes on; that way you have more control over your results. This kind of control, helps our patients feel more confident.

How to Minimize Scarring After Surgery

Minimize Scarring Morristown, NJ

Whether you are getting a tummy tuck, rhinoplasty, or breast augmentation, it’s safe to say that the last thing that you want to end up with is a bunch of scars. Even though you will likely have at least some amount of scarring after surgery, there are a few ways that you can minimize how severe they are, but how?

Avoid the Sun

The sun is basically your skin’s worst nightmare; especially when you want to avoid scarring. The sun will naturally darken your scars and make them more pigmented which can be hard to get rid of. While your skin is healing, make sure to avoid any direct sun contact. Additionally, if you do expose your scar to the sun later on, make sure that you apply a lot of sunscreen over it to prevent it from darkening.

Don’t Pick

The difficult thing about scars is that they itch while they are healing. Even though you may be tempted scratch your scars because they are itchy, it’s the last thing that you want to do. If you pick at your scars, it can interrupt the healing process which can make them a lot more visible.

Try Keeping It Moisturized

Another thing that you can do is keep your scar as moisturized as possible. As your skin is healing, if it dries out, it may cause the skin to crack which can increase the visibility of your scar. By keeping it moisturized, however, you can help to reduce the appearance of your scar while also avoiding any itchiness.

How a Thigh Lift Can Help You Add a Little Spring to Your Step This Spring

Thigh Lift

Losing a lot of weight is a victory within itself. However, even though having a slimmer body can be life changing, it can leave you with excess stubborn fat and a lot of loose skin in the process. So, what can you do to get rid of both of these concerns? A thigh lift.

What’s a Thigh Lift?

Here at Dr. Larry Weinstein’s office, we offer patients a variety of different surgical procedures including a thigh lift. During a thigh lift, Dr. Weinstein, will make an incision on your inner thigh next to your groin so that the incisions can be concealed later on. Once the incisions have been made, he will then use a liposuction technique to remove excess fat from the upper thighs and then begin removing excess skin and tightening it. After each step is complete, he will then stitch you up and get you back on the road towards recovery.

Why a Thigh Lift?

It can be really hard to have a lot of excess skin after weight loss because it prevent you from showing off your full results. After all of the dieting and exercise that you put yourself through, not being able to get into a swimsuit or shorts without feeling self-conscious about your excess skin is enough to make you want to hit your head against the wall. With a thigh lift, Dr. Weinstein can save you all of that frustration and help you feel more confident in your skin (literally).

What Are Results Like?

The number one thing that you will be happy with after getting a thigh lift are the results. After the swelling has died down, you will notice that you have less fat around your thighs and you won’t have the loose excess skin that you did before.
