How to Get Rid of Dull, Dry Skin After Summer

Spending time laying out by the swimming pool or vacationing at the beach are two of the ways that most people like to relax during the summer. And although a little bit of sun isn’t going to cause too much harm, too much of it may lead to premature wrinkles, fine lines, and dull, dry skin. To help restore the moisture and appearance of your skin, we have created a list of a few ways that you can get rid of the dullness. Are you ready to learn some more? If so, then read on.

Exfoliate

If you don’t exfoliate at least once a week, then you should add this step into your skincare routine. Exfoliating every two to three days is one of the best ways for you to get rid of dry, dead skin all-around your face; especially on your nose, forehead, and cheeks. When choosing an exfoliating scrub, choose something that is abrasive enough to get off dead skin but not so abrasive that it makes your skin feel raw afterward.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation

One of our favorite noninvasive treatments that we offer patients is laser resurfacing. Laser resurfacing is used for a variety of different skin concerns, including dullness. By targeting the top few layers of the skin, a laser will encourage the growth of new skin, which causes the existing top layers to slough off. When this happens, new skin cells are created, and patients tend to experience smoother, healthier skin overall.

If you have noticed that your skin is looking and feeling dry and dull, then it’s time to add a few things to your skin routine. During your initial consultation with Dr. Weinstein, he will take a closer look at your skin and help create a plan to get your skin back on track. Ready to schedule our consultation? Tissue Expansion for Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Undergoing a mastectomy is just one of the many breast surgeries for patients who have breast cancer. After all of the breast tissues and cells have been removed, we will typically need to perform a tissue expansion surgery to help create room in the chest cavity for your implants.

What is Tissue Expansion?

When we remove your natural breasts, tissue, and cells from your body during a mastectomy, it leaves little skin left on the breasts or room for an implant. During what is called a tissue expansion surgery, we will typically place a small balloon-like device underneath the skin, and then we gradual fill it over a several weeks or month process. Every time that we fill the balloon, the skin and tissues start to stretch to create room for the actual implants.

What Does It Feel Like?

One of the biggest things that patients want to know before they undergo this portion of breast reconstruction is whether or not the expansion process is painful. Typically, patients will feel some pressure and a stretching sensation as their skin stretches in between each session. Sometimes patients may even feel like their skin is a bit tender, but overall, it shouldn’t be painful. If you are experiencing tenderness, then consider taking some ibuprofen to help ease the discomfort and pain that you are feeling.

What Is Recovery Like?

Typically, after the tissue expansion surgery, we will have patients stay at the hospital overnight b that tends to vary from patient to patient. Once you go home, you may feel a little bit of soreness and tenderness, which is exceptionally reasonable.

Understanding every step of the breast reconstruction process can help patients feel more reassured and involved. If you want to learn more, contact our Chester office today and call us at 908-879-2222.

3 Swimsuit Trends to accentuate Your New Breasts

The best part about getting new breasts before the summer season is up is that you get to show them off a swimsuit. Depending on your body type though, one kind of swimsuit may be more flattering on you than others. Whether you like to cover up your midriff or show it off, let’s take a closer look at three swimsuit trends that will accentuate your new breasts.

One Pieces

One pieces can be a girl’s best friend when you are worried about covering up your midriff. The fun thing about one pieces is that they are super trendy right now and sexier than ever.

Even though one pieces used to primarily be used for swimming laps, they have come full circle and are now available in ones that have a plunging neckline or are cut extra high on the tips. Make sure that you find a one piece that is cut low enough to show off cleavage, but that fits you well everywhere else.

High-Waisted Bikinis

If you don’t’ want to cover up your entire midriff, but you aren’t yet ready to show off your stomach, then consider getting a high waisted bikini. High waisted bikinis have a vintage feel about them, but they are so popular right now that you can find a top that will show off your new breasts while wearing bottoms that cover up most women’s trouble areas (buttocks, love handles, abdomen).

Regular bikinis

If you’ve got it, then, by all means, flaunt it. Bikinis are the fastest way to feel sexy while you’re at the swimming pool plus you can find just about any style of bikini top to show off your breasts. For instance, you can get a halter top, triangle top, or bandeau top, all of which will make your new breasts look great.

Depending on the type of coverage you want, each of these swimsuits will help you look and feel sexier than ever. To learn more about breast augmentations, contact our Chester office and call 908-879-2222.

What to Do When Your Abdominal Workouts Aren’t Doing the Job

If it seems like you’re continually eating a lean diet, doing abdominal workouts, and trying to tighten your core, but you aren’t getting any result, then you may be wondering what you can do. One of the hardest things about losing weight around the stomach is that sometimes the fat can be stubborn and hard to get rid of. Let’ take a closer look at a few ways Dr. Weinstein can help you get that toned tummy in on time.

Abdominoplasty

Sometimes during pregnancy, the abdominal muscles move around, which can make it harder for you to see results when you are losing weight after pregnancy.

Also, pregnancy can leave you with excess skin that’s hard to tighten with just exercises. During an abdominoplasty, Dr. Weinstein will reposition the abdominal muscles while also getting rid of excess skin on the abdomen to give you a tauter stomach.

Liposuction

Whether you want to do liposuction in conjunction with an abdominoplasty or just on its own, liposuction is one of the best ways to get rid of excess, stubborn fat on several parts of the body including on the stomach. During this surgical procedure, Dr. Weinstein will make small incisions just above the pelvic bone. Then, he will surgically scrape off the fat and suction it out with a device called a cannula. The result? A thinner stomach.

If you are sick and tired of doing abdominal crunches at the gym without seeing any results, then it may be time to get the help of a surgical procedure. To learn more about each of these procedures and whether or not you’re a good candidate, contact our Chester office at 908-879-2222.

3 Exercises to Maintain Your Arm Lipo Results

When patients hear of liposuction, they usually think of getting it done around the abdomen or upper thighs, but liposuction can be used all across the body. Here at our office, one of the most popular places that patients elect to get liposuction done at is the upper arms. By removing excess fat from the upper arms, our goal is to give patients slender looking arms that you feel confident in, But, after surgery is done and you have recovered, there are a few things that you can do to keep your arms looking long, lean, and slender.

Push Ups

Push-ups are one of the easiest workouts you can do to tone up your arms because there is no equipment necessary. Whether you do push-ups the regular way or you elect to do them on your knees, get into the habit of doing them several times a week to help maintain and enhnce the shape of your arm muscles.

Lap Swimming

Now that outdoor pools are open everywhere, why not go outside, get some sun, and work out your arms in the pool? Lap swimming is a great way to get those long, lean muscles while also getting a good cardio workout in. Just make sure that you wear sunscreen so that you don’t come out of the water looking more like a lobster than anything.

Chair Dips

Another easy workout to do for your arms is chair dips. Similar to push-ups, there isn’t anything that you need other than a chair. To do this exercise, stand with your back facing the chair, squat down, and put your arms behind you. Then, extend your legs out in front of you. Slowly dip your arms down (almost like a backward push up).

Our job is to give you slimmer arms after liposuction, but your job is to maintain the results. Ready to learn more about arm liposuction? Contact our Chester office today and call us at 908.879.2222.

It’s Arm Season: How a Brachioplasty Can Help

With strapless dresses, tank tops, and off the shoulder shirts being at the forefront of your summer wardrobe, the last thing you want is to feel self-conscious when you are in one of these. But if you have a lot of excess skin and fat on your upper arms, then you may not want even to attempt to get into one of these pieces of clothing this summer. Rather than spending your summer sweating in long sleeves, let us help you gain back your self-esteem with a brachioplasty.

What’s a Brachioplasty?

A brachioplasty or an arm lift is a surgical procedure that’s done under general anesthesia to help patients, like you, get rid of excess unwanted fat and skin. If you feel like no matter how hard you diet and workout that you still have excess fat on your upper arms, then a brachioplasty may be the perfect solution for you.

What Is Surgery Like?

During this surgical procedure, Dr. Weinstein will start by making a long incision on the incise of the arm that extends to the elbow. He will then remove excess fat with liposuction, trim excess skin off, tighten supportive tissue, and stitch you back up with absorbable sutures.

What Is Recovery Like?

After surgery, you will be sent into a room to be monitored while your anesthesia wears off. Then, once you go home, we tell all of our patients to keep their compression sleeves on. Although these compression sleeves aren’t the most fashionable thing you have ever worn, they are great at getting rid of pain and swelling at the same time. We also tell our patients to avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous activities for a few weeks after surgery or until Dr. Weinstein gives you the go ahead.

You should feel sexy in your skin and body at all times, but especially in the summer. If you want to learn more about getting a brachioplasty, we are here to help. Contact us at our Chester office and call 908. 879.2222.908-879-2222.
