3 Benefits of Body Contouring With Liposuction

Liposuction has been around for decades, and it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. As one of the most popular and efficient ways to contour your body and get rid of stubborn fat, liposuction continues to give patients real results. If you are a healthy weight and have tried to get rid of stubborn fat without success, then you may be the perfect candidate for liposuction. From lasting results to a better self-esteem, this article will discuss three benefits of body contouring with liposuction. Read on to learn more.

Lasting Results

Unlike extreme dieting where patients gain the weight they lost back in just a week or two, liposuction will give you results that last. Because liposuction involves surgically scraping and then suctioning out the fat from your body, it reduces the number of fat cells you have. And, the smaller number of fat cells you have, the less likely it is that they will grow back. As long as you maintain a relatively strict diet and exercise plan, you shouldn’t gain back any of the fat that was removed during liposuction.

Fast Results

Another strong benefit of liposuction is the fact that you will get almost immediate results. Although you will have some inflammation immediately following the procedure, you will still notice a slimmer you. And once the swelling wears off after a few days, then you will see your results right away.

A Better Self Esteem

Yes, it is true that your self-esteem comes within…at least until you hit bikini season. After all, nothing can put a damper on your self-esteem more than getting into a bikini only to have a big belly, too much fat around your thighs, or love handles. Luckily, with the help of liposuction, you can get rid of that unwanted fat and feel more confident when you hit the pool this summer.

Liposuction continues to be one of the most effective ways of removing stubborn fat from areas such as your buttocks, thighs, abdomen, and arms. If you would like to get rid of your excess fat with liposuction, contact Dr. Larry Weinstein today.

How to Tighten Up Your Tush

liposuctionWith the holidays long behind us and the summer months quickly creeping up on us, it can seem overwhelming to think about getting into a bikini. Have you recently caught a glance of your tush in the mirror and noticed that it’s a bit saggier and jiggly than you’d care to admit? Luckily, you still have a few more months until you have to get into a swimsuit, so you still have time to tighten up your tush. From working out to getting liposuction, this article will discuss a few different ways that you can get a behind that will have all of your friends feeling jealous. Read on to learn more.

Work It Out

One of the best ways that you can tighten your tush is to do exercises to target those muscles. In addition to doing cardio— which will help you lose weight— make sure that you are doing plenty of squats, weighted squats, lunges, leg extensions, and leg presses. If you aren’t sure if you are doing any of these exercises correctly, ask for some instruction from a team member at your local gym— the last thing you want to do is pull a muscle or strain anything.

Eat Correctly

Unfortunately, if you want to get a tighter tush before summer, you are going to have to put down those cookies, soda, and hamburgers, and try eating lean proteins and more veggies. The leaner your diet is, the leaner your physique will be. And, as one of the first parts of your body where you will lose weight, your tush will certainly look slimmer before you know it.

Consider Liposuction

In addition to working out and eating correctly, you may want to consider getting liposuction from Dr. Larry Weinstein. By surgically removing the fat from your tush, you will get results that you otherwise wouldn’t have with just diet and exercise alone. And, because it’s still springtime, you will have plenty of time to recover from surgery before you hit the pool or beach.

It can make you feel a lot of unnecessary pressure to think about having to get into a bikini in just a few months. However, by using a combination of exercise, diet, and liposuction, you can get a tighter tush than ever before. 3 Ways to Prepare for Tissue Expansion Surgery

Plastic SurgeryDepending on the size of your body and the cosmetic surgical procedure you would like to have done, you may not have enough skin to cover the area. For instance, if you are petite and would like to get a breast augmentation, you may not have enough skin to cover the implants. Luckily, with a procedure called tissue expansion, Dr. Larry Weinstein can expand your skin so that it properly covers and protects the surgical site. To help you prepare for this surgery, we have created a brief guide with three easy tips. Read on to learn more.

  1. Stop Smoking

Before you undergo surgery from Dr. Larry Weinstein, you should stop smoking at least two weeks before your surgery. Smoking decreases your body’s ability to heal after surgery which puts you at an increased risk of complications. If you need help quitting smoking, contact a local hotline or reach out to our staff for additional support.

  1. Avoid Blood Thinners

If you are on any blood thinning medication, make sure to notify Dr. Weinstein in your initial consultation. Blood thinners can make the surgical process a lot more complicated and can increase your recovery time. If you take medications like Ibuprofen or aspirin on a regular basis, you will be instructed to stop taking it for at least a few weeks before surgery.

  1. Get a Ride Home

Typically, Dr. Larry Weinstein can start the tissue expansion project at the same time as your breast augmentation surgery. However, because these are two fairly invasive surgeries, you will be under anesthesia which means that you won’t be able to drive home. Before you come in for surgery, make sure that you schedule a ride home from either a friend or family member. If you don’t have anyone to pick you up, let us know beforehand, and we can arrange for a taxi service.

Before you get a tissue expansion surgery, make sure that you stop smoking and taking blood thinners, and that you arrange for a ride home after surgery. To learn more about this surgery and more, contact Dr. Larry Weinstein’s office today!

3 Juvederm Myths

JuvedermYou fill up your car, you fill up your water bottle, you fill your plate full of food, and you can even fill in your fine lines and wrinkles around your face. As one of the most popular dermal fillers on the market, Juvederm is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles on your face and in your lips. However, just like with anything that you are putting into your body, it’s nice to know fact from fiction. This article will discuss three common myths associated with Juvederm to help you feel more informed. Read on to learn more.

  1. It Takes a While to Recover

One of the things that Dr. Larry Weinstein can say for sure about Juvederm is that as long as you aren’t having any adverse reaction to it, you shouldn’t have any recovery time. In fact, although your skin may be a little inflamed in some areas for a day or two, everything else should be as good as new.

  1. It Can Be Used Around Your Whole Face

A common misconception that people have is that dermal fillers like Juvederm and injectables like Botox can be used to your entire face. However, that’s not the case. In fact, Juvederm is only approved to help fill in fine lines and wrinkles from the nose down— including your lips, nasolabial folds, and cheeks. Additionally, Botox is only approved to treat the fine lines and wrinkles on your forehead and around your eyes.

  1. It’s Harmful

If you are on an organic kick just like everyone else in the country, you are rightfully concerned about what you’re putting into your body and any harm that it can cause. However, Juvederm is a filler that is made up of an ingredient that is found naturally in our bodies: hyaluronic acid. So unlike other treatments that involve silicone, with Juvederm, you know that you are getting a natural treatment 100% of the time.

Now that you are aware of some of the myths associated with Juvederm, you can feel more informed before you get injections. To learn more about Juvederm and other fillers that we offer, or to schedule a consultation with Dr. Larry Weinstein, contact our office today!

Restore Your Skin Some More: 3 Easy Tips

skin care for winterWinter is notorious for bringing people a bit of winter gloom and a load of dry skin. If you have noticed that the skin on your face is feeling and looking a bit on the dehydrated side of things, consider adding the following steps to your daily routine. From wearing sunscreen to using a face scrub, this article will discuss a few helpful ways to restore your skin back to a smoother state. Read on to learn more.

  • Wear Sunscreen

As one of the things that most people neglect to wear during the winter, sunscreen will help your skin stay moisturized and will prevent you from drying out too much. Even if you are heading out on a walk on a gloomy, winter day, the sun can still shine through the clouds and dry out your skin. When choosing a sunscreen, look for one that is built into a face cream— that way you don’t have to worry about adding yet another thing to your medicine cabinet.

  • Layer on the Cream

Whether you naturally have dry or oily skin, winter weather doesn’t discriminate and can leave you feeling drier than ever. To help you stay moisturized, layer on the face cream across your skin both morning and night. If you start to notice that you are breaking out, ease off of the cream and try only applying it at night.

  • Use a Face Scrub

Although this article mentioned tips to use every day, you really should only be using a face scrub 2-3 times per week. If you use a scrub too frequently, you strip your skin of natural oils which can cause you to break out. When using a face scrub to get rid of the dry, dead skin on your face, focus on your T-zone— your forehead, nose, and chin.

Get your skin back to its smoother, more moisturized self for the rest of the season with the tips listed above. If you would like to learn more about how you can restore moisture to your skin, contact Dr. Larry Weinstein today!

When to Consider Getting Botox

wrinkle-treatmentBotox has been and still is one of the most popular procedures that patients come into Dr. Larry Weinstein to get. By temporarily relaxing the muscles around the eyes and forehead, Botox works to give patients a wrinkle-free complexion. However, as one of those things that just about everyone is flocking to get, it can be hard to know when you should start getting Botox done. Read on to learn more.

When You Start Noticing Wrinkles

Because everyone has different genetics and skin types, it’s hard to give a definitive answer to what age you should start getting Botox done. However, it’s safe to say that you should start coming in to get Botox as soon as you start noticing wrinkles around your eyes and forehead. To test out whether or not you have wrinkles, try scrunching up your forehead and the skin around your eyes while standing in front of the mirror. Once you relax, are the wrinkles still there or have they gone away? If they are present, then you need Botox. If they vanish right away, you still have time to spare.

Look At Your Family History

To help you decide when you should start getting Botox, look at your family’s skin. For instance, do your mother and grandmother have wrinkly skin or is it as smooth as butter? If your family is known for having prematurely aged skin, then you may want to consider getting Botox done sooner than later.

Notice Your Habits

Are you a fairly animated person? Do you make a lot of facial expressions when you are talking to people? If so, you are more likely to get premature wrinkles, which means that you should start getting Botox injections sooner than later.

To learn whether or not you are in need of getting Botox injections, schedule a consultation with Dr. Larry Weinstein today!
