Winter is notorious for bringing people a bit of winter gloom and a load of dry skin. If you have noticed that the skin on your face is feeling and looking a bit on the dehydrated side of things, consider adding the following steps to your daily routine. From wearing sunscreen to using a face scrub, this article will discuss a few helpful ways to restore your skin back to a smoother state. Read on to learn more.
- Wear Sunscreen
As one of the things that most people neglect to wear during the winter, sunscreen will help your skin stay moisturized and will prevent you from drying out too much. Even if you are heading out on a walk on a gloomy, winter day, the sun can still shine through the clouds and dry out your skin. When choosing a sunscreen, look for one that is built into a face cream— that way you don’t have to worry about adding yet another thing to your medicine cabinet.
- Layer on the Cream
Whether you naturally have dry or oily skin, winter weather doesn’t discriminate and can leave you feeling drier than ever. To help you stay moisturized, layer on the face cream across your skin both morning and night. If you start to notice that you are breaking out, ease off of the cream and try only applying it at night.
- Use a Face Scrub
Although this article mentioned tips to use every day, you really should only be using a face scrub 2-3 times per week. If you use a scrub too frequently, you strip your skin of natural oils which can cause you to break out. When using a face scrub to get rid of the dry, dead skin on your face, focus on your T-zone— your forehead, nose, and chin.
