Unearthing Common Breast Reduction Myths

ModelBecause of misinformation, a lot of women are afraid to venture into the world of cosmetic surgery. There are already a lot of women who are uncomfortable with the size of their breasts and want them to be reduced, but have not done so because of bad information they have learned about the procedure – which might all just be myths! Don’t worry because we are debunking the most common breast reduction myths for you!

Myth: A Breast reduction surgery and breast lift are the same.

These are totally different procedures concerning the breast, although a breast lift can be done in conjunction with a breast reduction surgery. A breast reduction surgery is done with the use of liposuction to decrease the size of the breasts. However, it may not have any “lifting” effect on the breasts and may actually cause them to droop more. It is during these cases that a breast reduction surgery can be considered.

Myth: I can reduce the size of my breasts to a C cup.

A lot of women believe that the ideal breast size is a C since it is just between too big and too small. Sadly, when a woman undergoes breast reduction, the new cup size of her breasts may be hard to predict after surgery. After all, the cup size measurements followed by one lingerie store may be different from another. It is important to shop only after your breasts have been done.

Myth: Losing enough weight can eliminate the need for breast reduction.

It is important for a woman to know that the breasts are made up of both fat and glandular tissue. Although diet and exercise can eliminate the fat in the breasts and reduce breast size, glandular tissue cannot be eliminated. If you have naturally large breasts to the point that you already experience back pain and other discomforts, losing weight may not be enough.

Extend Your Liquid Facelift Results!

Model 13A liquid facelift is a procedure that rejuvenates the face and improves facial contour with the use of Botox and other dermal fillers. The effects of a liquid facelift does not last a lifetime. Due to continuous aging and other external factors, the patient may have to revisit her doctor for another treatment in order to maintain results. However, there are also ways to preserve the new contour and freshness of your face and see the results last longer!

Tip #1: Only use the best skin care products.

To make the most out of your liquid facelift, it is important to have an effective skin care regimen using the highest-grade skin care products. It can be difficult to sort out what really is effective because of some claims that appear to be just exaggerated. To determine what would really work on your skin, consult your doctor. You will most likely be prescribed with medical-grade products for skin care.

Tip #2: Your physician’s immediate post-treatment advice matters.

It is essential that you listen intently to the instructions provided by your doctor, including not to lie down for a couple of hours after treatment. Any exaggerated movement in the muscle or any excessive physical activity during the first few hours can affect the appearance of your liquid facelift.

Tip #3: Routine follow-up treatments can do wonders.

Having regular visits to your cosmetic clinic has a huge impact on how long the effects of your liquid facelift will last by stimulating your skin to produce more collagen. Returning for a few touch-up sessions will encourage the body to regenerate collagen; thus, it allows an improvement in the results while maintaining the youthfulness of your face.

Liquid Facelift in New Jersey

One thing that can decrease the effectiveness of most dermal fillers is exaggerated muscle movement. But since Botox can temporarily paralyze facial muscles, dermal fillers can be more effective in diminishing the wrinkles and fine lines on the face. As a result, you enjoy facial rejuvenation and get a more youthful appearance.

If you are interested in turning back the clock without going under the knife, consider getting a liquid facelift. Get in touch with us here at Weinstein Plastic Surgery by calling 908-879-2222 or filling out this online contact form and learn more about the wonders of liquid facelift.

How to Prevent Scarring

A wound due to injury, no matter how small it is, can end up with a scar. It is formed when the collagen in our bodies is exposed and tends to rise to the surface in an act to close the wound. Although this is a natural process associated with hound healing, it can be a bit frustrating to see a blemish in your then-flawless skin. Even though this is inevitable, you can do something about how it will mature and appear during the wound healing process.

Below are some tips to avoid turning your wounds into scars:

  1. As much as possible, do not interfere with the wound’s healing process.

Although you may have to treat the wound to avoid infecting it and to promote healing, you have to take note of the following:

  • Vitamin E may not be helpful. Some people believe that topical Vitamin E oil rubbed on the wound could promote healing, but doing so should only be done when the wound has already closed as studies have shown that Vitamin E can actually affect the healing process.
  • The healing process makes your skin extra sensitive to UV rays, causing discoloration in the process.
  • Minimize movement in the wounded area. This may cause the scar to widen.
  1. Cover the cut. It is not advised to let the wound just dry out and scab. It is best to keep the area moist. You may use petroleum jelly or the likes and apply it on the wound for about a week. After application, cover your wound with a bandage. Do this routine until new skin has already begun to form.
  2. Place pressure on the wound. You can prevent scarring by keeping the area flat as much as possible while it heals. There are special pads that you can use such as silicone gel sheets. You may tape them around the scarring to prevent it from thickening.

Natural Ways to Look and Feel Young

ModelAlthough there are already numerous cosmetic procedures that could help rejuvenate your look and make you appear a lot younger, many have failed to consider the natural methods they can do to counter the unwanted effects of aging. Getting a facelift means you have to do enough preparation for the procedure, but if you’re not up to all that, you may consider the following tips:

  1. Keep your weight stabilized.

As the years go by, people tend to take their weight for granted when in fact, the secret to a fit body is to consistently maintain a body weight throughout the years. Yo-yo dieting or consequently losing and gaining large amounts of weight could cause your skin to stretch.

  1. Don’t be in too much stress.

A little stress is inevitable, but too much of it can speed up the effects of aging. Our bodies have this natural tendency to release more of the stress hormone cortisol when under pressure, and cortisol can cause damage to the skin. It has the ability to increase oil production as well as prevent the skin from retaining fluids.

  1. Quit smoking.

If it is still not obvious by now, smoking can do a lot of damage to the body, which includes speeding up your skin’s aging process. Moreover, it prevents good blood flow to your face, depriving it from nutrients and oxygen that it supposedly needs. Not only that, it also breaks down your body’s supply of collagen, which is responsible for the elasticity of your skin. It is not surprising to see fine lines forming around the corners of your mouth and eyes if you haven’t quit smoking yet.

  1. A good skin regimen helps.

Because we are talking about proper care for your skin, it is essentially helpful to adopt a great skin care routine to counter the effects of aging. Basically, you will need a cleanser, moisturizer, exfoliator, and sunscreen to achieve optimal skin health.
