The 411Male Breast Reduction Surgery

Male Breast Reduction Chester, NJIt used to be that there was a stigma surrounding anyone who elected to get plastic surgery— especially men. However, according to a study published by The American Society for Plastic Surgeons, 40% of breast reduction surgeries done are done on males. Even though male breast reduction surgery may sound embarrassing, it can do wonders for your self-esteem and appearance. Let’s take a closer look at this surgery and why you may want to consider it.

What is a Male Breast Reduction?

A male breast reduction surgery is done on males— of most ages— who suffer from a condition called gynecomastia. Gynecomastia is a condition caused by hormones in men primarily either going through puberty or middle-aged and causes them to form fatty breast tissue. During a male breast reduction surgery, Dr. Larry Weinstein will remove this fatty breast tissue and any excess skin, to give you a flatter, more masculine looking chest in the process.

Why Is It Worth It?

For many boys who get gynecomastia during puberty, it should go away, and their chest should flatten by the time they turn 20. For middle-aged men, gynecomastia may also clear up on its own. If, however, your self-esteem is suffering because of gynecomastia and you just can’t seem to catch a break, then it is worth considering. Remember that your self-esteem is where a lot of your self-worth stems from, and so the better your self-esteem is, the happier you are likely to feel.

Male breast reduction surgery is the best way to get rid of excess fatty breast tissue and give you a flatter chest. If you want to learn more about this surgical procedure or schedule a consultation, contact our Chester office today at 908-879-2222.

Does a Breast Lift Mean Smaller Breasts?

Breast lift Chester, New JerseyEverything should be in its place— unless you have been pregnant, breast fed, or recently lost a lot of weight, then your breasts may not exactly be in the place they should be in. And although your breasts may hang lower than they did before you had kids or lost weight, it doesn’t mean they have to stay that way. With a surgical breast lift from Dr. Larry Weinstein, he can lift your breasts to exactly where they should be— leaving you feeling like, once again, everything is back in its place.

One common misconception, however, that many patients have about breast lifts is that you will lose your breast size in the process— which isn’t something many women like to here. So, can you lose your breast size after a breast lift?

A Cup Size

In a study published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in a group of 20 women over the age of 47 who all had breast lifts, most of them found that after about five years after surgery, they lost a whole bra size. However, that same study also showed that women before surgery likely weren’t wearing the proper bra size because of the excess skin and sagginess of their breasts. In fact, the study concluded that although these women’s bra sizes did shrink, their bras fit better after surgery. In other words, no, your breasts won’t shrink after a breast lift, but your bras will fit better.

If your self-esteem is suffering because your breasts are bigger than they used to be, schedule a breast lift consultation with Dr. Larry Weinstein today at our Chester office: 908-879-2222.

Tummy Tuck Relieves Back Pain and Restores Urinary Continence

“Abdominoplasty has long been considered a cosmetic procedure, improving the shape of the abdomen by excess skin removal, liposuction, and rectus muscle plication. Performed chiefly on the postpartum and weight loss population, there have been reports of improvement in the functional symptoms of back pain and incontinence following abdominoplasty with rectus plication, but there has been no prospective multicenter study to investigate the issue.”
