7 Things to Consider Prior to Getting Injectables in New Jersey
Facial aging varies from one person to another. Factors such as genetics and lifestyle influence when and where wrinkles develop in the face. It is also important to note that aging is caused by displacement or loss of fat, breakdown of elastin and collagen, as well as reduction of bone density. Apart from a New Jersey facelift, fillers and injectables are also an excellent option if you wish to lessen the signs of aging and maintain a youthful look.
During your initial consultation with Dr. Weinstein, he will assess your needs and preferences as well as present the pros and cons of each dermal filler available in the market today. Consider the following tips when preparing for injectables in New Jersey:
1. Moderate to severe bruising is a common occurrence following treatment. To prevent this from happening, avoid the following 2 to 4 weeks before your scheduled treatment:
– Vitamin E supplements
– Anti-Inflammatory drugs such as naproxen, ibuprofen (Advil), gingko biloba, and St. John’s Wort or any supplements/drugs which act as blood thinners
2. Ask your doctor about antiviral medications prior to treatment. This will help reduce the occurrence of developing an outbreak or lesion, particularly if you are prone to cold sores.
3. With Botox as an exception, do not plan your treatment within a few days of a significant event or occasion. All the swelling and bruising would still be visible even with the most effective concealer around.
4. Ensure that you have flexible cool compresses within 24 hours following treatment.
5. Secure a sweat-proof, rub-proof, and non-irritating concealer for touch-ups following treatment.
6. Do not undergo treatment if you are under the influence of controlled drugs.
7. If you had injectables in the past, notify your current doctor about what was injected, the amount injected, and where it was injected.

New Jersey Skin Care Tip: Sunscreen Matters
We hear all the time how important it is to wear sunscreen. However, many of us sun worshippers forego or tend to forget to slather on sunscreen anyway. So why is sunscreen so important?
Why Sunscreen?
Apart from protecting yourself from sunburns, sunscreen slows down the aging process. You don’t have to worry as much about the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Lastly, keep in mind that unprotected skin exposure to UV radiation could significantly increase your chances of skin cancer.
In this study, regular use of sunscreen with a sun protective factor of 15 during the first 18 years of life is shown to reduce your chances of getting skin cancer by 78 percent. In addition, another study found out that sunscreen users have stronger social influence and more self-efficacy than non-users.
Maximizing Sunscreen
The following techniques are proven to maximize sunscreen use:
1. It is best to apply sunscreen 30 minutes before you go outdoors. Each application lasts for about two hours so reapply throughout your stay outside. Waterproof sunscreens have shorter periods of effectivity; they could last for up to 80 minutes.
2. The rule of thumb is to use at least SPF 30 for the body and SPF 15 for the face and lips.
3. Pay special attention to the exposed parts of your body when applying sunscreen: face, arms, legs and yes, the ears!

Going Out for Lunch? Try Botox with Dr. Weinstein!
One of the downsides of cosmetic procedures is the extended time it may take to recover from the procedure. While some can go on a vacation and have a New Jersey liposuction, not everyone has the luxury to take a few days off from work or school to have plastic surgery. This is where lunchtime procedures such as Botox in New Jersey come in!
What is Lunchtime Botox?
Lunchtime Botox is now popular amongst men and women who want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes and mouth. Getting Botox injections can take less than an hour and you are good to go. There is no downtime and you can immediately resume your daily activities and tasks.
Is It Worth It?
Botox wouldn’t actually be on top of the non-invasive cosmetic procedures for 2012 if it wasn’t worth it. While critics would be quick to point out that its results are not long-lasting, it is important to note that the procedure does last 3 to 6 months and is very convenient.
However, if you are looking for long-term solutions against facial aging, a New Jersey facelift would be more appropriate. Lunchtime Botox is ideal for those who want quick and affordable anti-aging procedures to get positive results.
Lastly, always see to it that the plastic surgeon of your choice is skilled and experienced when it comes to Botox injections, like Dr. Weinstein.

New Jersey Male Breast Reduction: Feel Great with Your Shirt Off!
This question is for the gentlemen out there — Are you confident about taking your shirt off in public or are you embarrassed about your man boobs? If you are uncomfortable with your man boobs you should know that they are medically referred to as gynecomastia and you do have options. At the Weinstein Plastic Surgery Center, you can undergo New Jersey male breast reduction to help get rid of those enlarged breasts which are tearing down your confidence.
Negative Psychological Impact
Why bother with male breast reduction? Apart from actually not looking good with the extra sagging breasts, a recent study published in the April issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, came out with the following conclusion:
“Gynecomastia has a significant negative impact on primarily the psychosocial well-being of affected adolescent patients, specifically in regard to social functioning, mental health, and self-esteem. Psychosocial impact was not affected by graded severity of disease. Health care providers and patients should be aware of the psychosocial impairments associated with gynecomastia and consider early treatment for adolescents suffering from this condition, regardless of severity.”
Male Breast Reduction Techniques in New Jersey
You may be an ideal candidate for male breast reduction if you have excess glandular tissues and/or too much localized fat. It is interesting to note that gynecomastia could either present itself unilaterally (one breasts) or bilaterally (both breasts).
There are basically 3 common male breast reduction techniques used today:
1. Liposuction alone to remove excess fat
2. Liposuction with removal of your breast gland
3. Liposuction with removal of your breast gland and excess skin
The incisions made during the surgery are very tiny thus no need to worry about visible scarring. The procedure itself takes around 2 to 3 hours and the results are, by and large, long lasting. However, keep in mind that you need to maintain stable weight to maintain the results. You also need to monitor your intake of prescription medications such as steroids.
