Breast augmentation or breast lift?
If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts, it can start to affect your self-esteem and even how much you enjoy life. If you have decided to make a change in your chest, you no doubt have a lot of questions about the many different procedures to choose from – to start with, you may wonder what the difference is between a breast augmentation and a breast lift.
What is the difference between a breast lift and breast augmentation?
Both procedures can improve the appearance of your chest, but they do very different things. In a breast augmentation, implants may be used to enhance the size and the shape of the breasts. It is used to give volume to the chest, to give a woman a curvier figure, and is often used to correct issues such as asymmetrical breasts and small breast size. Your doctor will be able to tell you about the different types of implants and can advise you on which one might be right for you.
A breast lift is used to eliminate loose and sagging tissue, “lifting” the breasts and making them look more youthful after the effects of pregnancy, nursing, or after a dramatic loss of weight. It can also be used to change the location of the nipple. Patients with small, sagging breasts typically see the best results from a breast lift procedure, but a breast lift can be performed on any size of breast.
Which one is right for you?
Which procedure is right for you depends on the results you would like to see. Some patients may benefit from both procedures – a breast lift can be done to raise sagging breasts while breast augmentation can be done to increase size and firmness. Whether you choose a breast lift, a breast augmentation, or both, the procedure will give you natural-looking results.
No matter what questions or concerns you have about any procedure you are considering, you can count on the staff at Weinstein Plastic Surgery Center for help and answers. Call the office in Chester, New Jersey, at (908) 879-2222 for an appointment today!

Will I be able to breastfeed after a breast procedure?
There are many plastic surgery procedures to consider if you are not happy with your breasts, such as a breast lift, breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, and breast reduction. You may be interested in having a procedure, but you may also be concerned about how a procedure could affect your future pregnancies and breast feeding. You should always consult with your doctor about any questions, but in the meantime, here is a bit of information about what a breast procedure can mean for your future motherhood.
What are the breast procedures?
Very quickly, a breast augmentation involves breast implants; a breast lift (mastopexy) lifts breasts and gives them firmness and shape; a breast reconstruction can help women who have asymmetric breasts or other issues; and a breast reduction can reduce the size and weight of breasts.
How will a breast procedure affect breast feeding my baby?
The good news is that a breast procedure typically will not keep your breasts from producing milk. Breast implants are placed in such a way that they do not interfere with ducts or mammary glands, and in the other procedures enough breast tissue is typically left intact to enable milk production.
According to the La Leche League, a group that advocates for breastfeeding and helps to educate and encourage new mothers, a woman’s milk supply is better if it has been 5 years or more since the breast surgery.
How will motherhood affect my breast procedure?
Fair warning: if you do become pregnant after a breast procedure, this can alter the work you have had done. Pregnancy can really change a woman’s body, and even breasts that have had work done are not immune!
Should you decide to breastfeed, it is a wonderful experience for both you and baby! If you are concerned about how a breast procedure may affect motherhood for you (and vice versa), make sure you ask your doctor about this. The staff at Weinstein Plastic Surgery Center in Chester, New Jersey, can answer your questions and help you decide which breast procedure is right for you. Call for a consultation today, at (908) 879-2222.

What to expect from breast lift surgery
Pregnancy, nursing, weight changes, aging and gravity all take their toll on a woman’s breasts. If you’ve noticed your breasts have lost their elasticity, firmness and shape, then a breast lift may be right for you. Here are some fast facts about what you can expect from breast lift surgery:
You’ll need transportation. A breast lift is an outpatient surgery that takes about 1-3 hours. You’ll need someone to drive you to and from your surgery and to stay for you the first night following surgery. This is because you have had anesthesia and will be tired and need monitoring.
Your surgeon will help you determine the incision pattern. Each patient is unique. The size and shape of your breasts, the size and position of each areola, the degree of sagging and the quality of the skin, amount of skin and elasticity all factor into which incision pattern and technique is used during your surgery.
There are three common incision patterns, all of which begin by encircling each areola. The lollipop-shape incision goes around each areola and vertically down to the breast crease. The anchor-shaped pattern starts by going around each areola, vertically down to the breast crease and horizontally along the crease.
The breasts are lifted reshaped to create a more youthful appearance. Underlying breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve contour and firmness. Areolae may be reduced around the perimeter if they are large to be more balanced with the breast size and shape, and the nipple and areola are repositioned. Excess breast skin is removed, and remaining skin is tightened before incisions are closed with sutures, skin adhesives or surgical tape.
You’ll see immediate results. You will be able to see results immediately after surgery. As swelling subsides and scars begin to fade, you’ll continue to see results improve.
You can retain long-term results with proper care. Your breasts will continue to change due to aging and gravity, but the results of surgery are long-lasting. You can maintain your look longer if you follow a healthy lifestyle and maintain your weight. Too much weight gain or loss can negatively impact the appearance.

Why You Should Say Yes to New Breasts For Christmas
Rather than waiting for Santa Clause to sneak down your chimney and gift you with something that you may or may not use, why not give yourself a gift that you know you are going to enjoy? Here at Dr. Larry Weinstein’s office, we specialize in a variety of surgical treatments including breast augmentations to help give you larger, firmer, and perkier breasts. This year, before you let Santa decide what he’s going to give you, we have created a list of reasons why you should say yes to new breasts for Christmas.
Confidence
Even though looks aren’t everything, there is something to say about being confident in the skin you’re in. Oftentimes, women want to get larger breasts as a way to add to their confidence while wearing form-fitting clothing or a swimsuit. If you find yourself feeling a little self-conscious about your breasts when you are in revealing clothing or swimwear, then a breast augmentation may be able to help.
Better Physical Appearance
If you have small, deflated, or asymmetrical breasts then a breast augmentation can help solve all of these issues. During a breast augmentation, Dr. Weinstein will work to give you perkier, larger, and symmetrical breasts so that you can feel better about your physical appearance.
You’ve Always Wanted It
There is no better time than the present to get what you want. If you have been putting off getting a breast augmentation for whatever reason, then make this year the year that you pull the trigger. If you are worried about financing, talk to our office about our financing options to see if we have a payment plan that will fit you and your lifestyle.
If you want to learn more about whether or not a breast augmentation is right for you, schedule your consultation with Dr. Weinstein at our Chester office and call us today at 908-879-2222.

Does a Breast Lift Mean Smaller Breasts?
Everything should be in its place— unless you have been pregnant, breast fed, or recently lost a lot of weight, then your breasts may not exactly be in the place they should be in. And although your breasts may hang lower than they did before you had kids or lost weight, it doesn’t mean they have to stay that way. With a surgical breast lift from Dr. Larry Weinstein, he can lift your breasts to exactly where they should be— leaving you feeling like, once again, everything is back in its place.
One common misconception, however, that many patients have about breast lifts is that you will lose your breast size in the process— which isn’t something many women like to here. So, can you lose your breast size after a breast lift?
A Cup Size
In a study published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in a group of 20 women over the age of 47 who all had breast lifts, most of them found that after about five years after surgery, they lost a whole bra size. However, that same study also showed that women before surgery likely weren’t wearing the proper bra size because of the excess skin and sagginess of their breasts. In fact, the study concluded that although these women’s bra sizes did shrink, their bras fit better after surgery. In other words, no, your breasts won’t shrink after a breast lift, but your bras will fit better.
If your self-esteem is suffering because your breasts are bigger than they used to be, schedule a breast lift consultation with Dr. Larry Weinstein today at our Chester office: 908-879-2222.

Breast Lift Myths Debunked!
One common reason why most individuals have second thoughts in getting a cosmetic surgery is the unpleasant information they hear about a particular procedure. They believe in these statements so much that they think all of these are true, when in fact, they are just pure myths! Breast lift is a popular procedure that many patients still resort to for the wrong reasons.
Here are some breast lift myths that we have revealed only for you:
Myth: The breasts can only be lifted with a breast lift.
Although a breast lift can effectively “lift” the breasts, especially if the patient has good skin elasticity, more people opt for breast implants in order to add more volume and shape to the breasts. When done with a breast lift, the patient is more likely to achieve her desired results right after the procedure.
Myth: Breast lift can provide permanent results.
The saying that goes, “nothing lasts forever” is true when it comes to the results of a breast lift. Although you will have perky, more youthful-looking breasts for a long time, but with inevitable aging, the results can still alter over time. The breast continues to age as well so it is possible that they will go back to their droopy appearance anytime in the future.
Myth: Your breasts will be immune to any changes and weight fluctuations in the future.
As much as the rest of your body becomes affected once you gain or lose a lot of weight, so do your breasts. You can only do little to prevent these changes from happening once you experience significant weight fluctuations. This is why it is highly recommended that you have already maintained a healthy or ideal weight before undergoing a breast lift. Doing so can prolong the outcomes and youthful results of a breast lift.
Dr. Weinstein is qualified to perform breast lift to potential patients. If you are interested in getting a breast lift, call us today at 908-879-2222 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Weinstein. We look forward to hearing from you!

Breast Lift New Jersey
Women of all ages may opt for a breast lift procedure for various reasons. Pregnancy and nursing, changes in weight, genetics and gravity all play a part in weighing the breasts down. For women who are dissatisfied with the drooping of the breasts, a breast lift procedure may be all they need to create the firmer, for youthful breasts they desire. However, for some women who feel their breasts have ìdeflatedî after nursing or who have never been fully satisfied with the size of their breasts, a breast augmentation couple with a breast lift procedure may be the best way to achieve the results desired.
In a breast lift surgery the incision is generally made around the areola area and excess skin will be removed. The areola may be re-positioned, re-shaped or re-sized as need to better correspond with the breasts new position. The remaining skin will be closed around the areola area creating perkier, firmer and more youthful looking breasts. Gauze and bandages will be placed and a compression garment will likely be recommended to be worn to keep swelling down and to help support you while you recover.
